The museum houses over 12,000 exhibits showcasing the national and cultural values of Armenia. The collections represent various fields of folk art and are often praised for their intricate detail and excellent craftsmanship. The main sections include:

  • Woodwork: A wide selection of Armenian wood carvings.

  • Metalwork & Silver-making: Intricate examples of work by Armenian blacksmiths, silversmiths, and jewelers, often featuring precious and semi-precious stones.

  • Textiles & Lace: Displays of historical textiles, embroidery, lacework, and traditional Armenian costumes from the 19th and 20th centuries.

  • Carpets & Rugs: A large collection of traditional Armenian carpets and rug-making examples.

  • Pottery & Ceramics: Examples of traditional ceramics and clay works.

The museum also has a branch in Dilijan and a Wood Carving Gallery in Yerevan. Due to renovation work, sometimes only the branch galleries are open, so it may be best to call ahead. Guided tours are available and highly recommended by visitors to fully appreciate the exhibits.
